This retreat is totally devoted to the art and profession of making slipcovers for furniture. Join us for a few days in October to expand your horizons, to network and grow.

2014 Slipcover Retreat
Number of participants is limited. This gives each participant the opportunity to experience hands on (if the class is hands-on) and to be up close. Participant will work on a slipcover and also take home samples. (Only 6 in a class).

Dress is casual, but appropriately to be in public. We want you to be relaxed, worry free, comfortable, so you can learn, and absorb as much as possible in each class that you attend.

Burgundi Thure is the owner of Sew Rose, a home interior custom sewing shop specializing in slipcovers.  She made her first  slipcovers in 1993 and was hooked. There is nothing like seeing new life brought to tired furniture.  This year Burgundi is looking forward to teaching the delights of sewing.

Judith Ellis of Judith Carol Ellis

JC has been an owner of a custom sewing business for the past 7 years working with designers as well as retail customers.  She also teaches home decor classes at a local sewing machine dealer. JC is earning experience toward her Slipcover Professional Certification.

Therese Davis of
Barrington, Illionis

Therese’s expertise is finding creative solutions to fit unique and unusual furnishings.  Since her teen years she has been involved in repurposing items that others have deemed futile, and enjoys sharing her artistry skills with others.  Owner of Fabrications Studio for 6 years.
